Cats and Kidney Disease Part 2

Cats and Kidney Disease Part 2: Case-based Approach to using SDMA in Everyday Practice

You must login to view this webinar.

Kidney disease is in common cats and the IDEXX SDMA Test is a new kidney test that is available to help evaluate kidney function. In this webinar, several cases will be presented to show how SDMA can be beneficial in common cases that practitioners handle every day. The cases will be used to illustrate what next steps should be taken when SDMA is increased and how SDMA can be a more reliable indicator of kidney function in cats.

In this webinar attendees will:

  • Review what SDMA (symmetric dimethylarginine) is and its 3 key attributes.
  • See an overview of the next steps to take when SDMA is increased to investigate, manage, and monitor kidney disease.
  • Briefly review the International Renal Interest Society (IRIS) chronic kidney disease (CKD) guidelines for cats and apply them when appropriate to the cases in the presentation.
  • Be presented with several cases of cats with increased SDMA and to review each case, including diagnostics performed, case management, and outcome.
