This on-demand webinar will explain how immune responses are initiated, and how vaccines are designed to take advantage of that to provide protection from subsequent infections. The webinar discusses the steps and mechanisms involved in immune activation, the ways in which the immune system surveys for infectious organisms, how memory responses are formed and how secondary (memory) responses differ from primary immune responses. Speaker Bio

Leigh O’Mara PhD

Dr. O’Mara is the Technical Marketing Director for Vaccines and Therapeutics US at Merial. She works closely with field veterinarians, R&D, and manufacturing to ensure good communication regarding product needs and performance in the field. Dr. O’Mara also works with KOLs in the field, and with agencies to ensure the technical accuracy of product descriptions and activities. Prior to her current position she has worked in R&D as a project manager on the development of new vaccines and pharmaceuticals, and in academia on new vaccine development.
